Day-by-day itinerary
Day1 Fly Kathmandu – Lhasa & Acclimatization
On your arrival to Lhasa, a cultural city of Tibet, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Taking it slow the rest of today, you can adjust to the altitude easier and quicker. You are recommended to drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep for making an adjustment to the long journey ahead. Overnight at Hotel Kyichu Hotel or similar in Lhasa
Day2 Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today we visit Lhasa including Potala palace which is an oldest palace of Dalai Lama, the first Buddhist’s temple of the Tibet, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market which is traditional Tibetan market of Tibet. Overnight at Hotel Kyichu Hotel or similar in Lhasa
Day3 Drive Lhasa - Gyantse (3950m) - Shigatse (3900m)
Drive to Gyantse visiting Yamdruk Tso Lake. Enjoy Gyantse visit covering major highlights and continue your drive to Shigatse. Today you will explore Khumbum chorten, Pelkhor monastery & Tashilumpu monastery.
Day4 Drive Shigatse - Lhatse (4050 m) – Saga (4450m)
Today drive is mostly by passing typical Tibetan settlements along the road. This area is also known as nomad land with Himalayan background along the road. Drive to Saga and overnight. Overnight at Local Guest House
Day5 Drive to Manasarover (277km/ 8 hours)
Today will be long drive as we pass Paryang – small Tibetan town and continue drive to Manasrovar Lake. Enjoy exploration of the Holy Lake in Tibet on this full Moon day. Overnight at Local Guest House
Day6 Exploration of Lake Manasarovar and drive to Darchen
Manasarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss. After completing the memorable morning Bath and Puja we will be heading towards Darchen. It is considered as a base camp for the Holy Kailash Parikrama. Overnight at Guest House
Day7 Kailash Parikrama Kora begins & reaches Dirapuk (7 Hrs walk)
It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs; waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky make you feeling that Great God Shiva is everywhere with tons of blessing to you. Time to time the face of Kailash Parbat will keep on appearing. For 15 km trail it takes almost 7 hrs. Overnight at Mud House as available
Day8 Trek to Zuthulphuk by crossing Dolma La pass (5613m)
Today is the highlight day for our Kailash tour. We will cross Dolma-La pass between two valleys. Yamasthal should be crossed to reach the Shiva-sthal while your steps go closer to the pass. From top of the pass you will reward with best view of the Kailash. Trek down by passing Paravti Kunda. By the late afternoon, we will reach to Zuthulphuk. The great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles here.Overnight at Mud House as available
Day9 Finish Kailash Parikrama and drive back to Saga
After walking 3 hours, all the driving crew will be waiting your arrival. By the late afternoon you will be at your lodge in Saga. Overnight at Local Guest House
Day10 Drive to Kerung (232km) 6-7 hr
Drive to Kerung & overnight stay. Overnight at Guest House
Day11 Kyirung to Kathmandu 150 km
Driving further to Nepal Tibet border, upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
